nature2need´s biopolymer compounds are classified as biomaterials because they are biobased, biodegradable, or feature both properties:
- Bioblend grades- biopolymer compounds filled with mineral or organic fillers
- Spectabio grades- biopolymer compounds significantly reinforced with natural fibers
- Natureblend grades- biopolymer blends tailored to meet customised requirements
Based on specific needs, we can tailor and customize all material grades to customer requirements.
nature2need´s biomaterials are biodegradable in controlled conditions (e.g. industrial compost) and/or in non-controlled conditions (e.g. landfill, soil). They are labelled with “Made to Degrade”.
Bioblend grades are biopolymer compounds significantly blended with mineral fillers
Bioblend LT grades (optimized cPLA grade) are developed for rigid injection molded applications. The grades can be crystallised/annealed in order to have the part heat-stable at temperatures up to 110°C. Bioblend LT grades are biodegradable in controlled conditions (e.g. industrial compost) according EN 13432 and ASTM D6400..
Bioblend BT grades are developed for soft and flexible injection molded application. The grades are naturally high heat-stable at temperatures up to 95°C. Bioblend BT grades are biodegradable in all conditions.
Spectabio grades are biopolymer compounds significantly reinforced with natural fibers
Spectabio L grades are developed for rigid injection molded applications with a moderate to thick wall-thickness. Spectabio LB30MB is reinforced with up to 30 w.-% bamboo or other natural fibers. Parts molded with Spectabio L grades have a sturdy look & feel. The compound is biodegradable in controlled conditions.
Spectabio TR grades are developed for balanced to flexible injection molded application where a maximum filler content of natural agricultural by-products is required. Spectabio TR45MB is reinforced with up to 45 w.-% rice husk. Spectabio TR grades are biodegradable in all conditions.
Natureblend grades are biopolymer compounds significantly blended with organic fillers
Natureblend L-T10 grades are designed to be completely compostable/biodegradable (microbial and enzymatic degradation) in the targeted disposal environment; they will compost in municipal/industrial facilities according to global standards like EN 13432 (for Europe) and ASTM D6400 (for the USA).The grade offers a significant reduction in carbon footprint compared to fossil-based plastics.
Natureblend grades are suitable for film extrusion or thermoforming applications. An increased rate of crystallization allows an annealing to a heat stable temperature of 100 °C (HDT-B) and above. Natureblend grades are suitable for food contact.
